Disasterous

I live in a smallish town, so when I go out I don't expect a "big city" treatment. I expect to have a good time, but not exceptional service. It just isn't expected or required by really anyone in town, so it isn't given.

Tonight Hubs, baby & I went out to dinner with some friends. [Really good friends that we love very much!] I won't say where we went, because as I mentioned previously it is a small town & you don't want to really bad mouth anywhere or anyone. Though, we only have 5 or so acceptable restaurants so if you live here you can probably guess where we went!

Aside from the great company & conversation, our evening was horrendously bad. I need to grab my thesaurus to help me think of some words to describe how awful the service, food, & timing was. Alas, I am lazy so I shan't.

Oh, the absolute best part of this horrific evening is that the food is extremely overpriced. I am talking, double the amount of Hubs & I going to PF Chang's China Bistro [which is my all time favorite, but a little spendy]. I don't mind spending money on a good meal, but I do mind spending money on an awful meal.

Night [almost] ruined. If we didn't have great friends we wanted to spend time with we would have just stayed home, made some chicken & watched Austin Powers. Hmm, that sounds like a good Sunday evening plan...At least we have good friends that we can laugh about it with.



P.S. I never said I'd have anything of worth to write about, I just said I'd be back to writing!

Thankful Thursday

Wow, I suck at blogging lately! Meh - oh well. Now it is time to shout out & be thankful!

I am thankful for...life. I love it & I am happy.
I am thankful for...my friends, I've really needed them lately & they've totally come through for me.
I am thankful for...making new friends. Reese & I had dinner with some people from Church on Tuesday & it was so much fun!
I am thankful for...my job. I love getting up & going to work everyday. I feel so productive & fantastic.
I am thankful for...all the new clothes I got recently & some of the old ones I have been fitting into.
I am thankful for...my coworkers! I really like them all & I'm having so much fun with them.
I am thankful for...Reese. He knows me so well & does just what I need on a bad day.

He didn't just buy me one Monster.
He got me a whole case!

I am thankful for...the end of a bad/long/stressful day & that I can unwind and sit on my couch.
I am thankful for...the blogosphere & being able to vent anytime I want [even though it hasn't been that often lately.]
I am thankful for...all the people who read my blog & care about what I have to say - I will try to be interesting for you all!


I hope you have had a good week & have a lot to be thankful for! Tomorrow is Friday & then it's the weekend! Woohoo =)

Wow, I better get started! It is Thursday again & I have so much to be thankful for.

I'm Thankful For...
-Getting a job! Everyone knew that'd be my first one today, right?!
-God answering prayers & providing me with the perfect fit.
-My husband; he is the best & so supportive.
-Kathy. She is always there for me when I call her in a pinch!
-My dad, for marrying Kathy ;) [& for his great advice!!]
-My mom & siblings. I don't know what I'd do without their love & support.
-The Peterson side of the family. We did family pictures this weekend & they turned out fantastic!!

-Camie & how great she is to me. She is such a wonderful friend & support system; I don't know what I'd do without her.

Family & Friends.

First of all, let me just say that I am so close to being done with my cleaning list! I would be doing it now instead of blogging but Reese says I shouldn't vacuum until after 10 so I don't make our neighbors mad [dang apartments]! I want to vacuum before I make up the guest bed, so everything is all perfect in there. So, I am waiting.

Also, I could be getting myself ready right now instead of blogging, but I still have to work out this morning. Which I can't do until I get my above mentioned cleaning done, because I don't want to work out, shower, then get hot & sweaty again while cleaning. It's a hard life I live - having to spend my morning on the computer =)

James Squared [aka Dad & Brother, James] are on their way! I'm not exactly sure where they are, but they will be here within the next 5 hours! Wahoo. Should be very, very fun. I hope. We all have fun together, but Riverton is pretty boring. There is not much to do!

We are going to dinner tonight. Camie & her family are going to join us. That will be very fun. Then - we are wanting to go to a movie, but.....Riverton sucks as far as movies go. We have 5 movies to choose from, & we've all seen all of them...well except The Smurfs & Final Destination Five. Seriously. How have they made another?! We may go to a movie regardless of the lack of new ones, just so James Squared can experience the awesomeness of our theater.

We're all going to go to Church together in the morning & then they depart. It's a quick trip, but I am glad they are coming. We are so out of the way up in Riverton & not many people come to visit! I am so glad when they do.

I confess...

*That I've been working out all week & I feel great!

*I love getting up & feeling productive.

*I am really excited for the two James' in my life to come visit on Saturday [My dad & brother].

*I have a shiz bucket ton of cleaning to do before they get here.

*My house isn't that messy, but I want to get it spotless before I have company.

*I don't like to do a lot of cleaning all at once.

*I made a list of things to do from Wednesday-Saturday so I can clean at my leisure.

*I know that makes me kind of sad, pathetic, & lazy but I don't care.

*That is my list, but I just spent way too much time making it "cute" so I could post it.

*I'm getting a lot closer with my new sister, Brittany, & I love it.

*We trust each other & help each other out. It's nice.

*I'm a negative person hiding in a positive person's body.

*It's quite the ordeal everyday to put on my "uniform", but I'm glad I do

 it - because a positive person would be glad. Right?!

*I watched Revenge of the Bridesmaids on Netflix & it cracked me up.

*I cancelled the DVD part of Netflix when I found out they're upping the prices.

*I'm not cheap, but I feel like they are taking advantage of people.

*I shall never give up the Instant Streaming. Oh no.

*I have to pee, but I'm holding it so I can continue this post.
*I ate wayyyyy too many brownies last night at Camie's house.

*I don't really have anything more of worth to confess.

*I love the weekend & I can't wait for it to start!!

Friday Confessional

I confess...
-I have a lot to say today, but I don't know how to say some of it.
-I wouldn't have even done a Friday Confessional post if my sister, Brittany, hadn't kicked my butt into gear today.

I confess...
-I feel like I am falling behind sometimes.
-I feel like I should have kids & own a house.
-I love the stage Reese & I are at, but I hate feeling like I'm behind.

I confess...
-I wish I could take Camie's kids home with me sometimes.
-I love them like family.
-They are the cutest kids I have ever seen.

I confess...
-I HATE when people take advantage of kind people.
-I've never been a really kind person, so I've never had that problem personally.
-I have a friend that is super kind & she gets taken advantage of sometimes.
-I want to punch those people in the face.

I confess...
-I punched Reese in the arm last week kind of jokingly, but I hurt myself.
-I'm a girl - through & through, I don't know how to punch.
-I can kick & pull hair like nobody's business though!

I confess...
-I hate when people spend more money than they have.
-I hate when it effects my loved ones.
-I think people should do what they want when they are only responsible for themselves, but when one is responsible for others they should sack up & take care of things.

I confess...
-Reese & I went to the fair last night with Camie & her kids - I got two bags of mini donuts.
-I don't care that they are deep fried & gross - I love them.
-I will never go on a ride at a fair/carnival. As my mother would say, "H. E. double hockey sticks, no!"

I confess...
-I really wasn't in the mood for a confession today, but I am so glad I did.
-I didn't post some of the big things on my mind, but just thinking about them helped me to feel better.

I confess...
-I am going to see RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES tonight & I couldn't be happier.
-I love boy movies & I ain't scurred to admit it.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for...

• Finding new recipes online so I'm not making the same old meals every week!
• Working out! I used to be really good about it & then I stopped for a while, I just got lazy. I am back on the wagon & I feel great.
• My Camelbak water bottle my Mother-in-law got me. It's so convenient, I take it everywhere.
• Reese coming to the dentist with me on Tuesday morning. He took his lunch break in the morning so he could be there to take care of me & help me feel safer.
• Almost being COMPLETELY done with the dentist!!! In 2 weeks & 5 days my permanent crown comes in, they'll put it on, & I should be done. Score.
• The internet, so I can play all day & be "super productive".
• My great friend, Whitney. She is so sweet, nice, wonderful, loving, & caring. I am so glad we are close & reading the Scriptures together right now.
• 40 Days Closer to Christ. I have learned so much & I love reading the Scriptures quickly like this. It has strengthened my testimony so much.
• The fact that I get to go spend 4 days in Utah with my family in the middle of the month. One last hurrah before they all start school again.
• How close I am with my family. It means so much to me!
• Camie & her awesome cooking skills. I can't wait to have some freaking Cashew Chicken tonight. And maybe some Magic Brownies [no-not the kind you are thinking of!]
• The weekend, so I can spend some time with Reese!

What are you thankful for this week?

The Lake.

Yesterday we went to the lake/reservoir near where we live. It was so much fun! We went with Camie, Thom, & their kids. They are the best. We seriously have so much fun with them.

We packed food for lunch & dinner, swimsuits, & s'more stuff - then we were off. We had sammiches for lunch & then jumped into the water! So much fun. How was it July 30th & we hadn't gone to play in the water yet?! What were we thinking??? We weren't. That's what.

We need to do that again - & soon. There is almost nothing better than spending the day in the sun with loved ones. There are 2 things that help to make it the best thing ever - 1] Reese being a nice gentleman & covering the disgusting toilet seat for me, so I don't have to look down the whole. &2] The dirty people that show up right at sunset to BATHE in the lake. Nothing goes better with s'mores than a little bit of judgement.

I hope you all had a great weekend, but I know it wasn't as good as mine - because mine was the best ever!

Thankful Thursday

I AM THANKFUL FOR.... 

*REESE!!! I know I say that one a lot, but seriously - he is just so good to me & I am so thankful for him.
*Putting our bed in the living room a couple weeks ago. It's sooo cool with the a/c blowing on us all night & slumber parties are super fun.
*Sleeping in! I woke up at 9:30 yesterday & didn't get out of bed until 1:00. Don't judge.
*Pinterest!! My sister-in-law showed it to me over the weekend & I love it. It's so fun...and such a great waste of time =)
*Camie's couch. Well, really I'm thankful for her & her friendship, but we mostly just sit on the couch & talk - so that's why I'm thankful for the couch.
*Cheesy Tuna Melt's at Sapore's. They. Are. So. Good.
*Triple barrel curling irons. It's super cute & I can wear it two days in a row. Yep, it's awesome.
*The fact that we aren't traveling ANYWHERE this weekend! We get to stay home for the first time all month.
*Dr. Pepper [So sue me for saying that one 2 weeks in a row. It's delicious.]
*Italicized font. It's awesome...& pretty.
*My sense of humor. I am home alone 80% of the day so I have to be able to make myself laugh...and I do.
*Music & how it can make you feel something so strongly.
*Sex. Yeah, I said it.
*Being able to shock my mom when she reads my blog =) Is it wrong that it brings a big smile to my face?
*My mom. She is the greatest & I am so thankful that we can talk about things. She is one of my people.
*The Scriptures, 3 Nephi 12 : 39-44 in particular today.
*Being able to vent! Having great friends, like the above mentioned Camie, to be able whine to.
*Having found a great new friend in my sister-in-law, Brittany. We wouldn't have ever met if we hadn't married our wonderful husbands & I am so grateful that we get to be friends/sisters.
*My sister, Sami. She is going through something tough right now & she called me yesterday for help. That meant more to me than she will ever know. I love her, I look up to her, & I am so thankful she respects me enough to call me for help. I would do anything for her. I'd drop everything, drive to Utah, & just sit with her if she needed that.
*Prayer. The ability to talk to God & ask Him to help me get over the immense anger I am feeling towards a certain someone that broke a promise to my sister. I am so thankful that I can hand that burden to God & I don't have to feel so angry.
*Picnik, so I can make my sweet little "Thankful Thursday" do-hicky.

Medicine, so I don't have to feel pain [from my root canal].

Being married so I don't have to date!

Being able to go out with friends - I don't know what I'd do without my Camie.

The ability to post links in my blog, apparently.

"Parks & Recreation" - we just started watching it & we're in love.

Reese's pure excitement on his birthday.

The fact that he is so easy to shop for - he loves everything.

My new kitten who is such a hyper-hypo.

The days when Reese offers to do the dishes & laundry - I rarely let him, but the offer is nice.

The time I've gotten to spend with my siblings lately; it's been fantastic.

This upcoming weekend - time with family again!

Thankful Thursday

*I am thankful for Reese, who says "Write about kittens." when I ask him what I should do for my Thankful Thursday post.

*So, I guess I better say that I am thankful for my new kitten, Simba.

*I am thankful for our adult cat, Saphira, as well. They both bring so much joy to my life.

*I am thankful for the times when I can sit on the couch & cuddle my little cats.

*I'm thankful for feathers attached to sticks so I can play with my kitten for hours on end.

*I am thankful for family & the wonderful weekend we just spent together.

*I am thankful for Brittany & her great sense of humor that makes me laugh nonstop.

*I am thankful for cold rainy nights so Reese & I can cuddle up under a blanket.

*I'm thankful for Medium on Netflix [I haven't been watching any current episodes, so please no spoilers!]

*I am thankful for spending time with Reese on the couch, while he plays a game on his phone & I play on my iPod.

*I am so thankful that we are comfortable enough with each other to just sit & enjoy one another's company.

*I am thankful for sunsets. 

*I am thankful for the times when I can catch a glimpse of pure serenity; for the times I can feel God looking down on me.

*I am thankful for my camera so I can remember those little glimpses forever.

*I am thankful for my car, so I can get to where I need to go [even if it may be the dentist].

*I am thankful Reese can take time off of work so he can be with me.

*I am thankful we can afford that.

*I am thankful for Camie - she's the best friend I've ever had & I don't know what I'd do without her.

*I am thankful for my trashy window a/c unit that keeps it nice & cool in our apartment.

*I am thankful that I have a brand new weekend in front of me, then a wonderful week after that.

-It's going to be the best 4th ever!
-I act like a little boy & love blowing stuff up.

-I love that it's ok to blow stuff up & seem like a crazy pyro one day a year.
-I wish I could do it more.
-I don't really like the big, "pretty" fireworks - they're too loud for me.

-I haven't always liked holidays.
-I used to be a total scrooge.
-Reese changed that for me.

Thankful Thursday

It's that time again, so let's get started....

*I am thankful for lazy days.

*I am thankful for the times that I have nothing to do except watch Netflix.

*I am thankful for busy days.

*I am thankful for the jam packed days that make me feel needed.

*I am thankful for good movies that make me laugh or cry.

*I am thankful that I am able to laugh at myself.

*I am thankful that I don't take myself too seriously.

*I am thankful that I can turn off the silly & be serious when I need to be.

*I am thankful that my hubby makes makes me feel safe.

*I am thankful that he works hard to pay our bills.

*I'm thankful that we have extra money so we can play!

*I'm thankful 2 of my siblings were able to spend almost two weeks visiting us.

*I'm thankful for the sunshine.

*I'm thankful for all of my wonderful friends & family who are always there for me.

*I'm thankful for Camie.

*I'm thankful for my readers who make me feel like someone out there cares.

*I am thankful that tomorrow is Friday & that means I have 2 whole days with my man.

*I am thankful that we get to go on a date this weekend.

*I am thankful that Reese loves me. [How did I get so lucky?]

*I am thankful that I have the opportunity to reflect on what I am thankful for every week.

I am Thankful for...

• Family.
• My family is the greatest.
• Every single member.
• They are always there for me when I need them.
• And every other time as well =)
• I don't think I could make it through the day without talking to my mom on the phone.
• Not that I call her for advice everyday, or anything.
• We just like to chat, laugh, & catch up.
• It's great.
• My dad has helped me through some tough times financially.
• I am so thankful for that.
• We get along really well & can make each other laugh.
• A lot.
• We have very similar senses of humor.
• [Or so I've been told.]
• I'm thankful that my sisters look up to me.
• They ask me for advice on boys.
• [If they only knew I am clueless, I just lucked out with Reese!]
• I love getting a call from my brother when he has accomplished something.
• He wants to brag to me.
• He knows I will be proud of him,
• And I always am - very.
• I love that family will always be there, loving me.
• I know I can kind of freak out & fight with them - but they still love me.
• That doesn't happen with friends.
• You freak out on your friends & they're usually gone.
• Some friends up & go for no reason.
• They blind side you.
• [That hurts.]
• I have a couple really good friends.
• Friends that I consider my family.
• [You know who you are!]
• I am thankful for them.
• I don't think I could make it through the day with out texting/talking to/seeing [as our husband's call us] my girlfriend.
• I am thankful that my husband is such a great family man.
• Right now we have two of my siblings visiting us.
• He doesn't complain & want them to leave.
• He loves having them here.
• He sits on the couch and plays "Mario" on the Wii for hours with them.
• He is a great man.
• [I mention him every week - I really am thankful for him!]
• I am thankful for an eternal family.
