Zombie No More

Ahh, it feels good to be back among the living again. It's funny how I consider sitting at a computer, alone, typing to ambiguity back among the living! Regardless, I am back.

Last night, after getting back on the wagon [again], I went through & read some of my old posts. Such a fun stroll down memory lane; it was like a time warp.  My life is exponentially different than it was last time I wrote.

For instance I am not working anymore, instead I am back to being a "housewife". Although, I guess I could be called a "stay-at-home-mom" now, because I am! I love it. There really aren't words to describe the elation my Little Guy brings to me!

I cook a lot. I used to make dinner 4 or 5 nights a week. The other nights we'd have a frozen something or other or go out to eat. Not anymore. I cook lunch & dinner 7 days a week! What the what? Me & the hubs are trying to be super healthy, so I am a cooking maniac. Really, it's a problem! I guess it keeps me nice & occupied though!

Mostly, I am pretty lazy. All. The. Time. I watch a lot of Netflix. Ok, maybe not a lot....but ya know, a couple hours a day. Is that a lot?...[Don't judge me!]

I am productive though, too. I clean! Well, I try to. Mostly I want to just sit on the couch/bed & snuggle my little Connor. So recently, I decided to make myself a cleaning schedule to help me get everything done.

I like lists. They help me feel productive. Well, they help me be productive! When I have a list of stuff in front of me that I need to get done & that I can check off, it really helps me be oober productive! Although, I made this list on Thursday...and it didn't make sense to start at the end so I have decided to wait until Monday comes around to get started =) Don't get me wrong, my house isn't a disaster zone, it just needs the regular upkeep.

Anyway, this has been a hodgepodge mess of jibberish. Maybe someday soon I will gather my thoughts & have a more normal post. Lesbihonest though, I'm not all that normal, so my posts never will be!

Your Dreams.

Sometimes I dream about work. Sometimes I dream about a tv show I watched the night before. Sometimes I dream about Vampires. Sometimes I dream about tragic things happening to loved ones. Sometimes I dream about being not awesome - then I wake up & realize I'm still awesome so I fall right back to sleep ;)

Ok, but really I have some big dreams for my life & my future. Maybe they are just practical dreams that everyone has, but whatever - they are my dreams currently.

I dream of owning a house within a year. We want to know where we are going to be, settle in, stay put, & live in our own house. Oh man, all the painting & decorating I can do! It will be amazing.

I dream of being a mommy. I dream of getting pregnant & feeling a baby grow inside of me & then actually having my own little human! I dream of being a good mom, not just a mom.
I dream of being able to be a stay at home mom & spend all day with my wonderful kids. My mom got to stay home the whole time I was growing up & it was amazing. There is nothing better. I hope to give that to my kids someday.

And now I dream of not being late for work today. I better head out the door! Have a great day everybody =)

Freaking Monday.

I tried to sleep in this morning, but didn’t really succeed. It seemed like everyone in the world wanted to talk to me & my phone was going off like I was famous or something, so I got up & started my day.

I had a crap ton to do because we gave our 2nd bed to Reese’s brother, Kyle, to take to college. So I have a whole room that I needed to figure out what to do with.  The main problem was that I kept our food storage under that bed (because it’s a tiny apartment & you do what you can), so now I kind of just have canned goods & stuff all over the floor in there!

I was am in a bad mood. We’re down a bed, so we can’t have visitors, I’ve got food all over the floor, & I’ve got to clean an organize everything!

Then, I got a call from the dentist - they are supposed to seat my permanent crown tomorrow - it didn’t come in. I have to wait a full week & go in next Monday. I’m pretty upset about it.

I finally got the room all organized. Ended up having to change our bedroom around a lot as well, but now at least our house looks presentable if people come over.

I don’t work, so I don’t usually get a case of “The Monday’s” but I sure have it today. Holy cow.

I hope you all had a better Monday than I did & I hope you have an even better week =)

Unloading with the Family.

This weekend we went to Laramie, to help Kyle, Jordan & Brittany move in.

It’s Kyle’s first year of college; his first time away  from home, really. It should be really fun for him. Also, I think it’ll be really nice for Jordan & Brittany to be able to be “Husband & Wife without parents around'”. [the in-laws are great, but having alone time when one is newly married is very important.]

We left around 6:30pm on Friday & headed to Laramie. Not. A. Fun. Drive. It’s so boring &….ugly. Let’s be honest. It’s not a pretty drive. [We did catch a pretty sunset though….]]IMG_3637 But Reese & I got to spend time together, so that’s always really good. 3 hours of talking, laughing, & just being alone. I sure love him!

Anyway, it was quite the busy weekend – but I’m so glad we were able to help. Moving sucks & it sucks even worse when you have to do it alone.

We got there too late on Friday night to actually do any unpacking, so we just relaxed for a while with Brittany & Jordan – then went to bed.

Saturday we got up & went to Perkins for breakfast. Mmm. Oh my goodness, I love breakfast food. I seriously wish I could eat it everyday, all day long. But….then I’d be gigantic, because I love me some syrup.Don't you just love everyone's face...
Then it was time to work! Jordan & Reese got to work unloading the U-Haul while Brittany & I cleaned and organized. Boy, oh boy did cleaning ever need to be done! Brittany had already cleaned for hours on Friday before we got there & there was still a lot to do.IMG_3641
A few hours later Ray & Cresta [my parents-in-law] came over to help out. They had been over at Kyle’s getting him all settled in.
Ray had some Mr. Fix-It things he started on right away; the closet, the dryer, the towel racks, the lining around the toilet. Lots of things to be fixed! Jordan & Reese helped as much as they could =) [But mostly played games on their Droids.]

Brittany, Cresta & I got to work on the kitchen; unloading, cleaning, organizing. You know – all the “girly” things to do.IMG_3640
I promise I helped a lot, I wasn’t just walking around taking pictures all day! I just had to take a few to document the big move. It felt like we worked all day! But in reality, we sat around & hung out a lot! But…that’s what happens when family comes to help right? Lots of hanging out & chatting!

We went to dinner & had a bad experience. Brittany & I both got sick. And that is all I am going to say on that subject. [Believe me, that’s all you want to hear.]
We got up this morning & Jordan made us Pancakes for breakfast. Oh. My. Gosh. They were to die for. IMG_3643
I really need to get the recipe from Brittany. Maybe she can post it on here so you all can have it, because they were seriously the best pancakes I’ve ever had. [I would know-I am a big breakfast fan, as I mentioned above!]

Now Reese & I are home. Ray & Cresta are on their way home. Jordan, Brittany & Kyle are all settled into their new homes & life is good.

I love Sundays. I love weekends. I love families. Even though it was a busy, stressful weekend I am so glad we went because we got to grow closer to our family.

I hope your weekend was great & I’d love to hear all about it!

Family & Friends.

First of all, let me just say that I am so close to being done with my cleaning list! I would be doing it now instead of blogging but Reese says I shouldn't vacuum until after 10 so I don't make our neighbors mad [dang apartments]! I want to vacuum before I make up the guest bed, so everything is all perfect in there. So, I am waiting.
Also, I could be getting myself ready right now instead of blogging, but I still have to work out this morning. Which I can't do until I get my above mentioned cleaning done, because I don't want to work out, shower, then get hot & sweaty again while cleaning. It's a hard life I live - having to spend my morning on the computer =)

James Squared [aka Dad & Brother, James] are on their way! I'm not exactly sure where they are, but they will be here within the next 5 hours! Wahoo. Should be very, very fun. I hope. We all have fun together, but Riverton is pretty boring. There is not much to do!

We are going to dinner tonight. Camie & her family are going to join us. That will be very fun. Then - we are wanting to go to a movie, but.....Riverton sucks as far as movies go. We have 5 movies to choose from, & we've all seen all of them...well except The Smurfs & Final Destination Five. Seriously. How have they made another?! We may go to a movie regardless of the lack of new ones, just so James Squared can experience the awesomeness of our theater.

We're all going to go to Church together in the morning & then they depart. It's a quick trip, but I am glad they are coming. We are so out of the way up in Riverton & not many people come to visit! I am so glad when they do.

Have a fabulous weekend =)

Overwhelmed!!

Do you ever have one of those weeks days where everything feels so much bigger than it really is? Where you just feel so overwhelmed but you can't quite pinpoint why? I've been having one of those days for a couple days now. It is no fun.

I really do try to be positive & not focus on the negative in my life, but it's been overpowering me lately. Athletes foot sucks & I want it gone. My 2 kitties still aren't getting along perfectly & it's tiring to try & get them to love each other. My tooth has been a pain in the booty for the last few months, so I have been seriously lacking on my housework - so my house is a mess. I've been having that issue with that one family member & it's breaking my heart. Mosquitoes are eating me alive & I'm itchy/miserable all the time.

Last night I had a little melt down. Reese & I were laying in bed about to watch Top Gun [from Netflix], we put it in & it was cracked. So, we couldn't watch it. Then my back cramped up & caused me excruciating pain. That was all I needed to put me over the edge. I broke down & started to cry. Reese was great & really comforted me, but he just didn't know what to do to help me. I didn't know what he could do either. These are all minor silly things, yet they are pulling me down!

Reese finally calmed me down & we took a "life inventory"  & I again realized that everything really is great & I have a lot to be thankful for, so then I felt even worse for feeling overwhelmed & negative! Jeesh. It's been quite the vicious cycle.

So, I got up today & read my scriptures, then sprayed the crap out of my stupid feet with Tinactin, I made the kitties play for a while, I cleaned my bathroom [a deeeeeep clean], did 4 loads of laundry & tried to feel productive & happy.

I guess that's the only thing I can do to stop the overwhelmed & negative feelings. If I just lay around & give into it, it'll never get better. So here's to me trying!

Now I'm going to go get all beautified so Reese & I can go to lunch; he really is too good to me.

Reese's Birfday Extravaganza

Oh, the big day [aka July 18th] went really well - can I say that? Is it cocky of me to say that, since I did all the planning and executing? Ah, who cares - it went really well!
There was one bad thing about the day - Reese had to work! Lame, but it buys the presents pays the bills, so I shouldn't complain too much!

He went off to work while I stayed home to clean the house a little, sheesh! We had been doing too much living & not enough cleaning. I got down to business, did 4 loads of laundry, went to the grocery store, the bank, & bought one last present for him.

He was in a meeting from 8:30-10:30, so I knew I had until then to get everything ready so I could surprise him with some treats!

I bought him a dozen maple bars from the local donut shop. He looooves maple bars, but I'm a mean wife & will only 'let' him eat one every once in a while. I also went & got him a adorable manly "Happy Birthday" balloon.  Now to run to the gas station & get him a 44oz Cherry Pepsi [aka the nectar of the gods]. It's 10:25 by now & I'm running out of time seeing how I wanted to be at his office at 10:30 right when his meeting ended so I could completely surprise him with all these yummies!

10:27 - I'm pulling out of the gas station, my phone starts blaring "Saving Abel" [the song title shall go un-named for my mother's sake]. Oh shiz, he got out of his meeting early!! Dang 3 minutes ruining all my awesome surpriseness.

I answer. Tell him I'm just fueling up & then I'm gonna swing by & say hi. Then I walk into the office with donuts, soda, & a balloon. He's surprised. I'm awesome He's happy. Success!! Plus there's still hours of birthday-ness left.

One of his wishes for it to be "the best birthday of his life yet" was for me to spend as much time with him as possible! Easy. Right? Wrong! He had to work - remember that little gem? AND it was about 9,000 degrees in his office. I had pretty hair for his birfday & fans were blowing & ruining it! Not to mention the sweat! Sickening.

Lunchtime. Reese has a favorite. McDonald's. Yayyy. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy some Micky D's every now & then, but we have been traveling a lot - so eating out a lot & I was just not in the mood! Alas, it was his birthday. We went through the drive-thru, brought it home, sat on the bed & watched some "Medium" while we ate. [Fun little tid-bit: our bed is in our living room right now. It's super awesome. We've got our trashy special window a/c unit in the living room. It's just too cool, literally & figuratively, to not sleep in there.] After "Medium" was over he had him some dessert.

During lunch he opened his PRESENTS!!! He didn't want to wait until later; he's like a little kid & I love that about him. The big thing on his list was "video games", but none of the good ones come out until fall - so he got a good chunk o' cash so he can buy them when they finally come out. I also pre-ordered a game that he must have the second it comes out. He also go a SWEET canvas picture of the two of us. He may not think it's that sweet, but I love it! I got him Chutes & Ladders [thank you very much Dating Divas]. I gave him the cash to get a shirt he has been coveting for years & it's just about time he freaking got it. I'm certain that I got him some other crud he loved, but I can't seem to remember what it was. Needless to say he loved all of his gifts!

Then, back to work he we went. He was in charge of designing some billboard ideas for their company. Who knows if the owners will actually use any of them, but it was kind of fun to design them! I helped & we made 5 [mine were the best - just saying].

When the work day was finally over we came home & relaxed for a little while. We watched some tv & then it was time for me to make "my famous alfredo." It really isn't famous, but Reese swears it is the best thing he has ever eaten. [I don't care for it at all.] He ate the whole batch - plus 4 rolls & a whole can of corn. I had something else. He was in a food coma basically the rest of the night - well after he got his dessert.

We spent the rest of the night laying around, eating delicious popsicles, & just hanging out. It was an all around great day, & by the end of it he told me I had in fact succeeded in making it the best birthday of his life this far! Go me.

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

I confess....

*I hate to clean.
* I mean I really hate it, not just a little but, but a lot!
*It's my job though. I'm a stay at home wife.
*It's what I'm supposed to be doing.
*[You know, instead of blogging.]
*So, I can't really say "Hey Reese, welcome home from a long day of work - clean the house."
*It just doesn't work like that.
*If it did, it would be really unfair to Reese.
*I might like it, at first, if I never had to clean.
*Then I think I would start to feel like a piece of crap.
*For not doing my part.
*So, I clean.
*I clean the kitchen.
*I clean the living room.
*I clean the bathroom.
*I clean the bedroom.
 *Our apartment is small.
*It's only the two of us here.
*So it doesn't get too messy,
*or take too long to clean.
*But - I still hate cleaning.
*It is my job, that I hate.
*Reese works hard & he probably hates his job a lot of days.
*He doesn't complain, though.
*He goes to work everyday.
*He brings home the bacon.
*[Literally. We love bacon.]
*So I will go to work everyday.
*I will not complain [to him].
*I will cook up the bacon.
*I will continue to do it everyday.
*But I must confess I hate cleaning.

Rentals Stink!!

We are so lucky to have a place to live. We're grateful, really. It's just hard when it looks like a pile of crap on the outside. I make it nice on the inside - well, I do my best anyway. We have good couches, decorations, & I keep it clean. But the outside-oh the outside, where do I begin?! No one takes care of it. When we moved in we were told the landlord would water, mow, weed, trim, etc. & that it was not our responsibility. We were thrilled! Who wants to take care of a lawn/garden/weeds in a rental? No one, that's who. Especially not us. So we've waited....and waited....and waited for our landlord to actually take care of it & we're still waiting. Ok don't get me wrong, it's not like they never do it - they water it once a week [including the weeds] & mow it once every 6 weeks. Fabulous. So, this morning Reese & I spent about 2 hours outside doing our  best to make it look decent. Pulled weeds, shoveled out weed roots, raked the dirt - we did our best. Now we don't have disgusting weeds growing all over the place!  But wait, now we just have stupid dirt! Gosh dang it! I suggested that we get some black tarp/plastic & then cover it with gravel or bark - then it would look clean, nice, & tidy, but Reese doesn't want to spend any money. He doesn't want to spend anymore of our time or our money on a RENTAL! Which makes total sense, as soon as he said that I fully agreed with him [even though I'd love it if it looked nicer out there]. But it's frustrating to put time, money & energy into making a rental all wonderful. If only we could buy a house! Wouldn't that be great? We could spend hours on end and lots and lots of money making our dirt look nice =) But, not yet. Not for a while probably. See, we don't know where we're actually going to end up living. The Office Shop can't make up their minds! Riverton? Green River? South Dakota? Who knows?! Seriously, if someone knows please tell me! I would love to buy a house, have a garden, have lawn furniture, make a baby room, have enough kitchen space to bake delicious treats [although I did make some cookies today on my 3 inches of counter space], & do all of the wonderful homeowner things! I know there are hard things that come along with owning a home, but at least it would be ours, right?! Ahh, someday! Until then I can dream & complain a little =) We are happy where we are, really. We are together. Reese has a good job. We have GREAT friends. We have a clean house. We pay the bills. We eat well. We go out. All of the good & wonderful things we have - we are happy! I am just a little tired from weeding for 2 hours and I wanted to gripe a little. Heck, who knows maybe in a year I will be complaining about all of the hard work it is owning a house! A girl can dream...

Before
After [still ugly, but a little better-I think]
