My dad & I haven't always been close, in fact we are still working at becoming really close. I think we are doing a fantastic job at it! When we were at the car wash we had some really good conversation. Conversation that helped me remember that he is there for me, he has my back, he worries about me, he is one of my safe places. It was fantastic.
We were at the car wash for about 45 minutes, just talking, & when we got home Reese & James thought we had gone on a way long ride when in fact we'd traveled less than a mile [not so terrifying].
He kept/keeps me safe, figuratively & literally. I am so glad they came up to visit.

OMG you are so much braver than I am!! My step father has a Harley and I won't go near the thing! I am scared to death of it! It does not have a seat looking thing like your dad's seems to have on the back. Your dad's looks a little safer for passengers anyway :)I am glad you had a nice time with your dad!

you know.. there is something really cool about riding a bike and seeing people ride-- but get me on the back of one and I feel like I'm on a very dangerous rollercoaster that could tip over at any moment! I have no idea how we are staying up right--- what if I lean a lil' too much to the side, will we die? i'm terrified too. My husband has a motorcycle and I've riden it less than 5 times.. SCARED. Maybe if we took classes on how to drive it, we'd be okay?
That's great that y'all are working towards building a better relationship. Parents can be hard to get along with sometimes. I wish my dad and I could build that better relationship but after 10 yrs of my adult life of trying it gets frustrating.
You didn't look (very) terrified haha. I would love to go on a bike ride in the fall and look at all the scenery. The idea of having a wreck does scare me (especially since my mom had a motorcycle wreck) but you just gotta live life and have faith. :)
