Remember to Pray

This is an excerpt from Christopher's latest email. It is so amazing. It helps to remind me to pray & have faith. God has a plan & if things seem like they will not work, or they are too difficult all we need to do is pray & ask Heavenly Father to help us see His plan. Also, most importantly, me need to remember to thank Heavenly Father after he does help us! I am so proud of my little brother & so thankful for the ways he helps me to become a better person every week.

"I would like to share a miracle that happened yesterday.  It may seem "small" to our understanding but I know that it was indeed a miracle and I hope it can help you to see how incredibly capable the Lord is in bringing back His lost sheep.  The story takes place yesterday afternoon.  It was a beautiful bright sunny day.  After eating lunch Elder Pollock and I arrived Felice Road where we had planned on doing some door to door finding.  We entered in the first building and started up the elevator.  We had just exited the elevator and entered in the top floor when our phone rang.  The caller was Pascal, a new investigator who is very interested in the message of the restoration.  He was quite happy to tell us that he had succeeded in changing around his schedule a bit and would be able to meet with us for about 30 minutes if we came right away.  We, of course, accepted and hung up the phone.  We were about the get back in the elevator when the thought came to my mind that there was someone in that building who had been prepared to receive our message.  I asked my companion if we could say a prayer before leaving to see what we should do.  I said a very short, but very heartfelt prayer that went something like this, "God, if it be thy will, please let us see a miracle."  During the prayer I felt very strongly that there was one specific door that we needed to knock on but I also felt we needed to go to Pascal's house.  I knew that if my impression had been correct about that door, that there would be someone behind that door who was waiting to listen to us, but I also knew that if we taught the unknown person behind that door, there we wouldn't have enough time to go to Pascal's house.  In faith we knocked on the door.  We presented our message and how it can help the family to have a lasting peace, joy, and comfort.  To our delight our new friend said, "Wow, that's great.  That sounds very interesting and I would really love to learn more.  But I'm really sorry to say that I'm busy right now and I can't let you in.  Could you please come back tomorrow at 7:30?"  We were all smiles.  We wrote the appointment down, shook his hand and left to Pascals'.  When we got the the bottom of the building we stopped and said a prayer of gratitude.  How easy would it have been for us to have just left the building right after receiving the phone call?  We would have deprived someone of eternally important blessings of the Gospel if we hadn't been listening to and following the Spirit.  This work would be impossible without the Spirit.  He guides us and helps us to do what God would have us do.  I am so grateful that God wants to guide us.  I am so grateful that we can, despite our imperfections and weaknesses, hear and follow the whisperings of the Spirit.  I pray that we can all desire to do God's will for I know that His will is that we be happy.  If we learn to want what God wants we will have learned to be happy.  I am so grateful for the privilege and blessing that I have been given to serve the Lord and my brothers and sisters in Switzerland.  This means everything to me.  I am grateful for the Spirit and the guidance I receive daily.  I love my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ.  They live and love us.
I love you,
Elder Claflin"
